Guanxiang Liang Ph.D.
ASSISTANT PROFESSOR
Hi, my name is Guanxiang Liang. I was born in Renqiu, a small city in the central part of Hebei Province, bordering Beijing, Tianjin, and Xiong'an in the north, and Baiyangdian in the west. It is the hometown of the genius doctor Bian Que. My favorite food is Renqiu Donkey Burger, the best thing in my childhood memory.
I graduated from Northwest A&F University, China with my bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Medicine and pursued my Ph.D. under the supervision of Dr. Leluo Guan at the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada. My PhD journey ignited my scientific curiosity and set the foundation for my research career. I completed my Postdoc training at the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, USA, and my mentor was Dr. Rick Bushman. After ten years in North America, I returned to Beijing to set up my own lab.
I met my wife, Dr. Yongjuan Guan, in college, and got married in Philadelphia. We now have two sons, Josh and Jeff.
